2007-08 Season:

Lani Gibbons was named CIS women's basketball player of the year as the Clan led all 14 national coaches polls in 2007-08, kept the best regular-season record in the nation at 22-1, captured the Canada West Pacific Division title, claimed bronze at the conference Final Four and won the consolation final at the CIS championship. The five-foot-four guard, a two-time CIS champion (2006-07, '04-05), led the country in assists for the third straight season (5.7 apg), finished second in steals (3.7 spg) and contributed 12.0 points per game as Simon Fraser finished second in CIS scoring with 82.0 points per duel.   Lani also awarded the Canada West Conference MVP and also named the Nann Copp Award winner as the CIS Player of the Year.
Lani Gibbons was also a nomines for the 16th Annual BLG Awards, which honours the top Canadian Interuniversity Sport male and female athletes for the 2007-08 season:

2006-07 Season:

In her fourth year, her second as starting point guard, Gibbons once again did not disappoint… started 34 of 36 games played, averaging the highest playing time on the team with 29.0 minutes… easily led the conference in assists with 7.74 per game, also leading the conference assist/turnover ratio with 2.31… was fifth on the team in three point percentage with .296, third in three point attempts with 3.9, and fourth in three point shots made with 3.2… led the team in free throw percentage with .782… led the team in assists and steals with 7.3 and 2.7, respectively… had a PB 30 points against Brock (12/30/06), also adding seven assists and four steals in the game… had a remarkable 11 assists and 7 steals vs. Toronto (12/28/06)… named a tournament all-star at the National Championship tournament in Newfoundland.

2005-06 Season:

Took over the reigns as the team’s starting point guard… Played and started in all 41 games this season averaging the most minutes of any player on the team (34.4 min. per game)…scored nine points in the season opener vs. Dalhousie (7/10/05)…registered one double-double on the season and dominated the CIS in assists averaging 8.8 per game with a total of 241 on the season…had a season high 12 assists vs. Alberta (11/18/05)...captured 117 steals on the season, 61 during regular season play ranking her fifth in the CIS, third for Canada West and first for the team overall…made 89-of-115 free throws on the season for an impressive 77.4%.

2004-05 Season

As the Clan’s backup point guard, Gibbons averaged 21.8 minutes per game as a substitute…made 141 assists, averaging 3.5 per game and made 55 steals on the year…averaged 5.4 points per game and had a career-high 23 points against Trinity Western University (11/6/04).
